Let’s learn on the land
The farm is the perfect place to learn, using all the senses students are invited to do outdoor learning.
We have a large barn available for you use throughout your visit. Trestle tables and benches, washing facilities, toilets and ample parking. As the site isn’t open to other members of the public during your visit, groups are easily handled as the area becomes your classroom for the duration of your visit.
Visits are free, your group just needs to complete a form and a risk assessment.
Primary Schools
We have welcomed hundreds of visits to the farm, the local school has a forest school on site and we can help teachers and educators make clear connections to the curriculum .
Secondary Schools
Through hands on learning the farm enables teachers and educators to deepen students knowledge of geography, maths, english and science.
SEND
We believe in the transformative power of nature. Learning through sight, touch, sound, taste and movement. We welcome specialist schools who want their students to access nature.
Higher Education
We make Bickham Barn available for higher education visits from farming, livestock handling, organic growing, soil science, sustainability, surveying… just ask.
